  • Why not let people who pre-ordered from Stardock play release version?

I don't understand why Stardock isn't letting people who pre-ordered directly from Stardock play the "gold"/release version immediately?

I mean, Stardock *WANTS* people to order directly from them electronically, rather than buying it in a store. So why not offer this as a perk to people who order directly from Stardock?

Because next time, the stores may say "Forget it" when asked to be distributors for the game.

Pre-orders (including TotalGamingNet) can now pre-download the game. Not playable, but on release day, we should just need to download a couple small files and be good to go...

            The reason is simple:

Pure white knuckled fear of angering the retailers.

              gotta love that honesty!
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

Well that is easy to resolve. Just send a baseball bat to your hardest of hardcore fans and have them pay a visit to any balking retailers. You know, tell your fans to have a chat with the employees about how it would be a real shame if anything happened to their displays...

Hard core strategy game players are nerds.

They could maybe swing a pencil at someone, but not a baseball bat.

Its like this... you tell the nerds to deal with the retailers... The nerds then bribe the strong unintelligent types with midterms, reports, or projects at work. BAM! Instant downloads
