I discovered that terror star have more uses than kill stars, i created at the same time coming from the same systen and with the same destination, 10 trade routes ( after a war ), the freighters travel at 1 move point per turn, my terror star 1 Mp, i created a terror star and put trade modules, good don't you think? , you can creat a terror star filled with cultural modules and watch systens turn to you, you live a choice to that systens, rebel and join me, or be eliminated, remenber to put the star into enemy territory and guard they well, i an not soo sure but the enemy could don't like to see a terror star aproaching their territory escorting trade freighters, ssssssssooooooo cooooolllllll

Another good one is to build one on a corner near three or four sectors you intend to sweep. Fill it with military modules. Instant floating bonus station for assualts. (Build it on the corners to work around that pesky 1 move rate - on corners i move is sufficient to switch sectors)
Often more convenient than builting fixed bases. Although in combo with fixed bases they provide that extra oomph.
My favorite strategy though is to send some Terror Star operators outside the station to push it along faster!
