I loved EU2, EU3, Civ4, HOI2, but thought HOI3 sucked ass while I got bored of Shogun 2 with in 48 hours. What's a good game which doesn't suck ass?

The new HoI2 expansions? Darkest Hour and Arsenal of Democracy?
There's even another one called IC that works on top of either of those two (or armageddon) and adds a ****tonload of provinces (yes, that many) called Iron Cross.

I have Arenal of Democracy but it's a buggy mess which they haven't fixed (I have yet to see a single capital ship sunk in that game), I haven't heard of Darkest Hour so I will look it up, I also already have Iron Cross.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.Comment

I've played AoD + IC as the USA and sunk the entire Japanese fleet with my carriers (they've still got a couple of light ships going around), as well as AoD + CORE as the Soviets, and here the japs have lost most of their capitals, and sunk a couple of british and US ones in return.Indifference is BlissComment

Sengoku is said to be the most polished PI game at release to date. It's a lot simpler than normal PI games, but it is basically Shogun: Total War reimagined into PI's grand strategy recipe.
Darkest Hour is awesome, especially the Kaiserreich mod.

Hm, it may be old, but did you try Rome Total War?
IMHO it is still a fine game, especially if you use some of the mods that increase the realism of the gameTamsin (Lost Girl): "I am the Harbinger of Death. I arrive on winds of blessed air. Air that you no longer deserve."
