I have it for the xbox. No mods.

Replay value? I'd rather max out one replay and do almost everything than have to re-tread the same ground to do different end-of-game and near-end-of-game missions. I wouldn't mind doing the opposite of my character, though, and make a strong melee character to join the Legion and just kill people. I can't imagine 4 full play-throughs, though.

So Guy, I can actually start the Wildcard quest sequence for the Yes Man while already doing the NCR stuff? Just when push comes to shove, I side with the NCR, like I plan to? As soon as I started talking to the Yes Man, I got the hell out of there because I didn't want to screw with my NCR path.

At the risk of spoilers, NCR is going to ask you to kill Mr. House, just like Yes Man. If I remember correctly, you can do pretty much every NCR quest without ****ing up Yes Man until the end, and vice versa. After all, Yes Man only asks you to "get to know" some of the waste's other factions, which you can do without cancelling out any NCR quests, and can actually coincide nicely with four of them.

You really ought to have gotten it for PC, though. The mods make a very good game into one of the all-timer RPGs.

Seriously, PC is way better than Xbox for these games. I got FO3 for the 360, and wound up buying it again for the PC just so I could use mods.

And console commands when the game inevitably glitches out

          Bethesda sucks at bug testing.

Other than the rare CTD, I can honestly say that both NV and Skyrim were very stable and glitch-free for me.

Really? I had a ton of problems with skyrim glitching out on me. Sometimes it just randomly exits. I save constantly because it's always screwing up.

Hmmm, yes. Well, that's what you can expect when you download amputee dwarf porn 12 hours a day, HC.

Strange that I saw this thread, I was thinking of a second play-though as I'm still waiting for Skyrim to fall in price.

Aside from the ones that you mentioned, what are the best mods? I've been sitting on the fence for too long on my second play-through.

I installed a ****-ton-load of mods, now my game is unplayable. I'm going to start afresh.

                    Recommended:
-A whole bunch of graphics mods, esp. the interface ones. There's even a guide to getting them all working together.
                    -FOOK
-Some others that add content, lore friendly. I'll have to check, but they're generally up in the best lists at the nexus.

Yes, failed to mention FOOK before; but choose that OR Project Nevada, not both. I think they'd work okay, but they both change so many similar things that you wouldn't get a good feel for either one. Sawyer's mod (which is NOT available at the Nexus) falls into this category as well.

EVE is also very good, it massively improves the visual effects, energy weapons in particular.

I can't imagine playing without the Weapon Mod Menu anymore.

                          • Wow. Never even heard of that.

                            That looks... awesome.

I may give that a try right now.

                            • Nevermind, it appears nvamp has been abandoned and is no longer functional with the latest NV updates and DLC.

                              Shame; it looks great.

                              • Yeah, it's not current as of a year ago more o less. I'm just hoping that the guys who did it finish with their current job and come back.

FOOK and PN can work along nicely, as long as you don't use PN's equipment module. This leaves you with PN's cybeware, for instance.
