Sandbox Games

Hi,

After 6 years of being away of computer games ( because I had two laptop with Intel graphic card), I bought a new desktop computer with a decent video card. I played Stalker: Call to Pripyat and Bioshock. I really loved Stalker, and I was wondering is there any others good sandbox games à la Stalker which I could buy?

I was wondering about buying Fallout 3 & Grand Theft Auto 4? Is this good games? Do you have any others recommendations?

I'm looking also if there is any good space action games as Freelancer(2003) by Microsoft? I don't have a lot of times and energy to spent in a MMO (like Eve Online). I want something that I can play as a single player games. I don't bother if it's a MMO, but I don't want to bother being in a team or a corporation.

Fallout 3 rocks. Oblivion and Morrowind have an annoying character building system, where you have to be very careful about leveling up or you find yourself completely outclassed.
