I'd no problems playing MOO2 from Impulse.

MoO 2 only had cd-check, not in-built, you'll-hopefully-only-know-this-if-you-have-the-manual, answer or face huge in-game penalties (in civ, i think you lost all your gold or your units, for example).

MOO simply killed you for an incorrect answer--but you got three chances, presumptively to keep players from accidentally clicking the wrong box and losing everything. They had the annoying GNN robot describe how your empire was conquered by raiders from nowhere.
