  • Starcraft 2 beta

Is anyone in it? I don't see any thread on it and its been on open beta status for about a month i think?

I'm liking the new zerg. Even though there are lot of things I don't like, in general they feel pretty good. Game obviously needs alot of balancing to do and zergs feel the least finished imo.

Some signature units missing, like lurkers, defilers, sci vessel reavers and etc are a shame. They were such core units of high level gameplay, but game plays differently so I guess that's fine. There's plenty of other new units to play with.

Ladder system is pretty good in MY experience. I hear from the interwebs that ladder is sometimes all whack and mismatching people and giving wrong points. I guess those bugs will be fixed in time. I also hear that they're going to give out more beta keys in the future so that they can test how more people playing will affect the current issues of matchmaking system. So if you're interested you should sign up at the official battle.net page.

    1) It's not an open beta and you know that
    2) You just want to brag
    3) I hate playing betas of games. I'll play when it's finished, thanks

That said, Starcraft 2 looks rad.

It only makes me sad that so many people will compensate for their lack of manhood size and play it competitively.

      1. I guess i'm wrong I thought open beta meant anybody can join. Even if its limited.
      2. Not really they're giving em out crazy and they plan to give out more like I said.
      3. Understandable. It wont be "finished" when its released either though.

You can casually have fun on lower division. like I said, it does the job fairly well in my experience, of matching similar players. IDK what your issue is regarding competitive play. Im sorry if jocks bullied you in high school.

Asher tends not to like MP, as he prefers to shy away from competition. So the beta, which is focused on MP, is not really for him.

I love MP, but I do it to have fun.

I played probably hundreds of hours of SC multiplayer, but all of it with friends only. Not randoms online.

My problem isn't with MP. I get no joy out of playing with people I don't know online.

And I'm not sure WTF this would have to do with jocks bullying? For one, I'm not an asian nerd playing Starcraft competitively...so no, I was not bullied. In my experience it's the people who take video games so seriously to play them competitively who had RL issues of societal rejection. You found something you're good at, and you'll milk it for all its worth. Good for you, though

I must admit that I had to try this the not so legal way, and I must say that the game looks and feel very good, however, I am a bit disappointed about the lack of real change from the first game, but I guess that is what we can expect from Blizzard. Probably day 1 buy for me, as I am really looking forward to the new twists of the story mode (have been described as a bit point & click-adventureish).

Well, when SC2 comes out, we'll see if you dodge playing non-randoms from 'Poly I guess.

              I know what I'm expecting.

                Depends on the person.

I don't play with British people, pedophiles, or Christians.

                  I'm eagerly awaiting this. I loved SC1.

I agree with Asher on the MP part... I play games to relax and have fun. Playing against friends, or SP, I can do that, but having to use the few strategies that work, and play as fast as is needed (in RTS especially) is just boring and a PITA.

Did you read what I wrote? That's not what I said.

                          Are you ESL?

                          I implied no such thing.
