  • Mass Effect / Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 is out in a few months.

Mass Effect (1) is $10 this weekend only on Steam. If you haven't played the original, give it a shot. You bring your characters into the sequel, too.

I actually bought it for the $10 deal a couple nights ago, even though I've already played through it on the 360. I plan on getting the sequel for the PC, and I want a character to bring in. Maybe even two, one paragon, and one renegade.

I'm thinking the same thing, actually. Got it on 360, thinking of getting it for the PC for $10 cause I think I'll get ME2 on the PC.

Nice find Asher, I had it in my cart for a bit last week when it was still $20, looks like I can make no excuse to pick it up now.

I too am planning on buying the PC version for $10 in order to import a character, despite having already played through the 360 version. Small world!

Was doing another playthrough, actually 2nd time around with these characters (you can reimport your own characters in ME (1) and play the game 'harder') ... not sure i'll finish it, though, with DA:O.

Bah, I guess I'll leave the PC on tonight. Looks like a 5 hour DL. I'm getting it at about 1/10 of my DL banwidth.

A very good game (at least the main story is - the side missions are pretty weak) and I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

For the most part, you're right, the side missions tend to be unspectacular. There was that one notable exception, though; don't remember all the details exactly, but I recall there being rogue shadow-government research gone berzerk... I remember enjoying the plot and gameplay of that one.

Yeah that one was pretty cool. But most are 'drive to the end of boring planet in an annoying vehicle, enter a building and mash some bad guys'

Apparently, Mass Effect 2 is going to require two DVDs to hold all of its content.

That's becoming much more prevalent. Lost Odyssey, which was cutscene heavy, had 4 disks.

Hopefully, it is not as boring as Lost Odyssey. Only good thing in that game was the short stories, which were awesome.

I bought it recently to check out what my Radeon 5770 could do. I have to agree with Spike: pretty good game, overall, but the side quests are boring so far. I also hate the party management system: its a ****ing pain in the ass.

I quite liked it. There aren't a great deal of decent JRPGs on the 360 so it filled a void.
