The saturation of farm games on Facebook is ridiculous. Seriously - how distinctive can Farmville be from Farm Town in terms of play, style, and so on?

I like playing Farm Town - a simple game that I can play for just a few minutes at a time but as of now, that is the only Facebook game of any kind that I play.

Sim Farm was a pretty interesting game. What do you think about it GT?

Sim Town also had some farming elements in it as well, I believe.

on the more macro-level: Sim Earth is an amazing game along that line.

For underground adventure, try Sim Ant.

I'm not quite sure what I was thinking, but at some point I purchased all of the above games. But found them enjoyable.

Back in the day when I had the SNES console, I owned Sim Ant - it was FUN game.

But, when I rented and tried Sim Earth, I gave it a chance a few times, but then got bored with it - it felt like watching and maintaining a fish aquarium.

I never liked SimAnt, but I loved to play around with SimEarth.

SimEarth was a great game. DwarfFortress reminds me of it in some ways, except Sim Earth had a much better interface. I enjoyed all the Sim games I listed... with the exception of Sim Town- somehow it did not compare to Sim City or SimCity 2000.

GT one solution for non-vista compatible games- buy a netbook! In the US, I believe they are at 300 dollars. And probably for another month or so they'll have XP instead of The New Windows 7, and XP should run Sim Farm... but you'll need an external CD drive to play it likely-- but you can buy those and plug them into the USB unit.

Same for me, with the exception of Sim Town, which I never possessed.
I especially loved to play around with genetics/ecology in Sim Life

I noticed a farming game when recently looking through the strategy category of http://www.freegameempire.com/games

They have a clever system of letting us play old games on a PC even if it's too new to play DOS games ordinarily.

Sorry, I don't know of any farm games. You might enjoy some of the city building games. Caesar 3 and Pharoah need economic management and can be played with one hand.
