No, this is just ignorant. When you learn how the game works, you will instantly wish that they are more complicated. Complicated like, say, the civilization-series.

My issue with EU3 was rather the way to wage war, that you never get rid of those annoying as hell small armies of your opponent and you have to ****ing micromanage all the time. It is not complicated, just tedious. However, i might be doing something wrong?

I think that's just the way the game works. I've begun playing the game with Castille and beating the crap out of the world.

Most of the time I just have a second smaller army situated in the province the defeated enemy troops are fleeing to (if they're not fleeing to their own lands of course) so they keep bouncing back and forth in defeat.

My impression of the game: its mechanics are quite ingenious, but there's not that much to do except tedious micromanaging. Sending merchants and expanding through colonization is quite time and effort consuming...

Once you get your colonies up and running income skyrockets and you're pretty much invincible. Boring!

Get the expansions. Somewhere along the way, they added auto-send for merchants, and there's a way to instakill the enemy army, if you've got huge numerical superiority or they have very low org or somesuch.

Also, the Magna Mundi Platinum 2 mod came out yesterday. FTW.
