  • Recommend Some Peaceful Games

I've been trying to find games that are peaceful, or that can be played in less violent, or less confrontational manner. Searching online yields a plethora of "video games are bad, play parcheesi!".

Building games like Sim City, Capitalism, and Transport Tycoon are fine.

Puzzle games like bejeweled and minesweeper are ****ing retarded.

I know there are some RPGs that allow for less murderous gameplay, Morrowind and Fallout come to mind.

    What would you guys recommend?

The Thief series would be my recommendation. You can also beat Deus Ex by only killing 3 people.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 (best in the series), Railroad Tycoon 2, Theme Hospital/Park, Sim Tower, The Sims , Locomotion (well I enjoyed it, and now there are plenty of mods for it).

Some point and click adventures would probably count too.

The Railroad Tycoon series ought to fill the bill, as well as the more recent Railroads. I liked most of the games in the RRT series. You can even download Railroad Tycoon Deluxe free from the Sid Meier's Railroads! - Official Site, but bear in mind that it is a little long in the tooth.

Also try CivCity: Rome. Kinda like a historical SimCity. I've been playing it recently and enjoying it.

There are some, minimal, combat parts to CivCity, but there is a whole peaceful campaign to the game, and several other settings that don't involve much war.

"minesweeper"... pretty violent, I would think

the Orange Box for Half Life 2... which has the remarkable "Portal" I strongly dislike puzzle games. This is sort of a puzzle game, but different- and more intriguing, like a platformer.

MAQ- RCT 1 is better than RCT 2 if you install the trainers.

Railroad Tycoon II is the best of that genre.

                        Tropico might be interesting.
