Anyone play Eve Online?

Kicking around the Free trial atm and was wondering if there are any Polytubbies I could fly around with. Any tips you have about it would be great as well.

Salvaging use to be a good way to make money. Mining is boring. Do learning skills, they don't get you stuff now but will get you stuff later. Fit your ships well, I recommend EFT and www.scrapheap-challenge.com .

The game, like most MMOs, is all about flying with people you like flying with/etc.

The real money is made by financial gurus and traders. Also like in RL. Also like in RL, production is hard and only the best are succesful (but that doesn't stop a lot of others from doing it at a lost, like me )

Lurker and I have a mission running corp, it hasnt' been active lately.

I am in a RP alliance for the minmatar republic.

If you stay in high sec I would recommend RP groups, low sec pirate or RP groups, 0 sec... read about it yourself.

Any tips on loading out an Executioner class ship?

Any decent group will give away frigates of the top class (Punishers/Rifters/etc).

Find someone like that.

For the Executioner, I would fit (assuming low skills)

2x dual pulse
1x micro shield extender
1x After burner
1x Heat sink
1x Damage control unit

But really, upgrade as fast as possible

In the other 3 empty low slots, put in:
2 hardeners for the mission you are on.
1 damage control unit or gyrostabilizer

you can also put in a salvager instead of the NOS in the high slot

I take it the ships I get from missions aren't very good?

After low levels, you don't get any more ships from PvE until the very high levels, where they are very good but overpriced.

For running missions. Find your mission, put in the hardeners to defend against the damage that will be done to you, put on a damage control unit or a gyrostabilizer, and go to town with a punisher.

Did I make a mistake with Amarr?

Amarr are currently the best race to fly. It doesn't really matter what race you make, it is what race you fly.

Amarr have always been weak on T1 frigates and cruisers though.

The Arbirtator (drone ship) and Punisher (AC ship) Are the good T1 ships before battlecruisers.

They have the best Battleships though. And very good T2 ships right now too.
