  • Monkey Island is Back!

Lucasfilm Games, in collaboration with world-class partners, creates interactive experiences that extend the narrative of the Star Wars galaxy.

    They're remaking the original.

And a Monkey Island 5 in the form of "webisodes", which I never really got into. I still don't like the whole 3D thing, give me 2D any day. http://www.telltalegames.com/

I heard about this coming to XBLA. For me personally I'm not that bothered as I can still remember 95% of the puzzles after 15+ years, but it's still valuable if it sparks a recovery of sorts in the genre.

I too can remember the puzzles, but surely they have changed the game slightly. I doubt it will be very easy to finish.

From what i read about it the XBLA remake will be a pretty pure conversion of the original game for the 360, so yeah not much for those 'oldies' like us who played it first time out.
BUT i'm very happy it is being done - it will open up a whole new generation of gamers to the wit and style of one of the best examples from this genre.

And the other news is a new line of Monkey Island games based around the episodic model(like the recent Sam+Max remakes) so that is cool NEW games to look forward too

I thought not, but even if they do a few changes won't make it worth replaying for anything other than nostalgia.

Agree with El Cid on the episodes though - never got around to checking out the Sam and Max ones as it happens.............

How appropriate. You fight like a cow.
