As soon as you finish Cell phase your creature walks on land for the first time. It's a whole new world, new dangers and new possibilities

At the beginning of this phase the Creature editor is almost empty, so your options are very limited at the beginning. There are several ways to fill the editor with items:

    1. Search the area for skeletons and walk to them. Each skeleton gives you one more item to use on your creature

    2. Get some allies. Walk over to the another tribe (if they hate you, they will attack on sight, which can make it difficult and even impossible, depending on how much they hate you). Switch to friend mode and click on one of their creatures. This opens up for the friend mini-game, where you have to do what they do. If they start dancing click on the dance icon (or press 2) or if they start singing you'd better sing too. If they start doing something you can't do or if you select the wrong response you only get little closer to becoming their friend. If they have a higher score than you in one of the friend actions it could become difficult getting a high enough score to win them over, as the friend-meter above their head will go slower than theirs
Later in the game the other creatures starts a group when you try to make friends. The larger the group is, the harder is it to become their friends (but then you can also add creatures to your group when your brain is advanced enough)
To become their ally you will have to befriend three creatures of the same species
Each ally gives you another item for the creature editor

    3. The last one is by causing the extinction of a species. Depending on how advanced the species is and far into the game you are, the number of creatures you need to kill to extinct a species changes. At the beginning most (if not all?) species requires you to kill off three creatures
To attack another creature select war mode and select an enemy creature. Then press the numbers 1-4 to strike, bite, etc. Each attack has a recharge time (and charging is only possible from a distance)
When low on health you'd better run away fast. If you finished the Cell phase as a carnivore you have the ability to roar, making nearby critters scared of you
Each time you kill off a species you get another item for the creature editor

When you're low on health you can regain health by eating or sitting in your nest or a nest owned by friendly creatures

During a game your creatures walks over to another nest, otherwise you could easily end up having to walk a long way before you meet a creature that is not your ally

You can risk meeting lonely Epic creatures (think of them as when you're standing next to a dinosaur). These creatures only sees you as a snack, they don't want to be your friend. Unfortunately for you, they are too big for you to take out (well, it should be possible, but not many has succeeded)

During this phase it's not advised to go swimming. Go too far out and you're snack for the huge creatures that lives in the ocean

It is possible for you to see a spaceship in this phase, which could abduct you or the creatures around you

Your goal is to earn enough DNA points to grow a big enough brain to go to tribal stage. You earn points by killing or becoming friends with other creatures. These DNA points are used in the Creature editor. The brain evolving is automatic, as soon as you reach a certain number of DNA points your brain grows. For each stage you get to add one more creature to your group (which helps when fighting or socializing)

When your brain is evolved fully you invent fire, sending you straight to Tribe phase

This space is empty... or is it?

One key important factor to consider here, is whether you are befriending or attacking a species you must target the ALPHA creatures. Why? Each ALPHA creature will net you a new creature piece as a reward. But the pitfall is that the ALPHA creatures are tougher and require much longer series of befriending moves.

And it is cumulative. So if a species has 3 ALPHA creatures at its nest, you can get an extra 3 creature pieces.
