Why would you buy it? People be dumb. Maxis, though, be smart. I mean just wait to buy the game if you want to play around with everything in the creature creator.

The online "free" version only comes with about a quarter of the creature bits 'n pieces.

But yeah, why pay for it?

I guess people just can't wait.

At least this demonstrates just how "big" this game will probably be when it comes out!

I think this game is definitely going to outstrip WoW and The Sims 1/2 for earning capacity.

EA will be bidding for MS next, not 2K.

Some people are creating specific types of creatures and are actually selling them instead of freely posting them. I suppose in this case paying for the creature creator would be worth it.

Ah, that's certainly an interesting potential NEWS story, Metaliturtle

Good idea on their part, too. Custom Character Design... Could probably become fairly lucrative.

...if only I can find the darn guy who was doing that... Google time

                Edit:

He makes squirrels but they are no longer for sale, you can download them for free!

The only I could see for buying the "full demo" would be if you would get the same amount in rebate when buying the full game. Paying $10 for a demo is a bit too crazy
This space is empty... or is it?

I bought it, but I will admit I was a bit SPORE deprived at the time...

I bought it, and I'll explain why:

                        1. Support (Piracy): Most pubishers assume every gamer out there is gonna pirate their games, which is why they put such extreme copy protection things in their games. I can't sit here and say "Don't treat me like a criminal" if I, myself, am pulling down the latest release from The Pirate Bay.
                        2. Support (EA/Maxis): Yeah, I'm that horrible horrible breed of modern gamer that actually likes a lot of Maxis's and EA's releases. As such, I'm going to keep giving them my cash. I don't want Maxis and EA going the way of Scarred-Up Amnesiacs, Stuttering AIs, and Goggle-Wearing Psychics.
                        3. Support (Demo): Sorry, but lately a lot of games that have been called massive-in-scope have used that as an excuse for no before-it-comes-out demo. Spore is massive-in-scope, and they put out a tool to let you figure out one of the major aspects of the game early is a plus for me.
                        4. Price: It's ten bucks. I pay more in gas every week. It's nothing.
                        5. More Stuff: The Spore Creature Creator trial was very enjoyable for me when I was burned out of other games and I didn't know what I wanted to play. Buying it gave me more parts to work with, and extended the enjoyment I got out of it. More Stuff, More Fun.
                        6. Creature Balance: The trial version of the SCC had carnivore-only parts, and a limited number of other parts. Putting out more Spore Creatures with non-trial parts from the beginning will make it a little better in that respect.

There's more, as I rememeber em.
