    You're kidding, right?

I use the word "curiously" because that kind simplistic hack & slash gameplay is best suited IMO for fantasy or maybe SCi-FI settings. I'm not sure how you'll make it click in a real world setting.

The most interesting MMO I know of (again, gameplay-wise) is EVE. The possibilities are quite fascinating... If I was you, I'd start there and then take things at the proverbial next level...
It's a common failing among the artist types.

Maybe you are right JM, but this is how I do it, I need to visually see something in order to grow more ideas. I'm not worried, it's only a matter of time before they come to me.

lotm, please don't get me started on risk.

Will, I wanted to put Chicago in, but I felt it was too close to the other cities. What I can do is add another state to the St. Louis area, and add Chicago in as a large city. That way, it won't feel as if there are too many big cities nearby (New York, Toronto). Having two large cities in one zone just wouldn't work, there is no room for it..
and thanks for spotting the error on Vancouver, I will get it fixed.

Just to make it clear, I have been thinking of the setting and the gameplay at the same time, just that the setting is much easier and comes faster, in fact, the setting is already done because we already know our world as it is today.

Btw, I mentioned earlier that this isn't a typical hack and slash game; there must be other ways to achieve your goals - and yes I am using EVE for some inspiration. Think EVE but on Earth instead of space, but instead of empty space, you can actually visit these cities, towns, and natural areas. And near the end-game, you can start to run for president or high ranking positions, and actually be responsible for controlling the rules of the zone.

I think it would be fairly accurate to call the region here named "israel" for syria, as this is the name used for the hole of this region historically for a few thousand years, while israel is the name of a part of this region during the last fifty

                What the ****

Why is Saskatchewan central Canada? You intentionally picked the smallest province and made it cover the bigger ones?

this whole thing looks epicly dumb. You've outdone yourself.

Mr Snuggles, I like the name and the area is less boring than my other options of that area. :P

LordShiva, thank you for stating what the problems are with the map... Come on, don't hold back, tell me what is wrong, why do you think I started this thread in the first place?

Having "Asia" as a continent on par with places like "Mesoamerica" and "Oceania" is silly; teh first contains half of teh world's population, teh third, 0.1%.

Ecthy, probably I will severely upset another nation..

LordShiva, population means squat if you are not organized. Anyway, this game will not exactly have a population count, the bulk of the characters will be the actual players, which zone they choose to be part of, is up to them.

Snuggles, can you suggest a better place then, since I am not a Canadian and have only flown over it for a couple of hours.

Enjoy the show Spike, I am pretty good at this sort of thing.

If you're going to pick one of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba it's clearly Alberta.

Alberta is more heavily populated, it's the economic hub of western Canada (not to mention the prairies), it's 2nd only to Saudi Arabia in terms of proven oil reserves, and it's gorgeous (Manitoba/Saskatchewan are endless flat prairies).

                                Saskatchewan:

                                Alberta:

Not to mention that Alberta has a separatist movement, and Saskatchewan doesn't...
