Rock Band is fun, but the drum kit has a faulty drum pad. The blue pad was working when I got it but it now does not work. I have contacted EA and they're sending a new drum kit, with a $125 credit card deposit until I send back the defective drums. So hopefully it'll even out in the end.
I only have one guitar, and I'm wondering about getting a second one so my landlord and roommates can play along too. I hear the Aerosmith game just came out, and you can buy a package of that plus a second guitar for about $100. I might do that, but I should probably wait till I've done more songs on Rock Band first.
I'm getting to the point where I can do most songs on Medium, and have a good stab at a couple on Hard. I can play Radiohead's Creep to about 87% accuracy and similar for Oasis' Don't Look Back in Anger. (It's not a coincidence that these are both songs that were big in Britain during my teenage years either.)
Zelda is Zelda, and will always be. I always found them a bit simple(I like lots of stats and huge inventory in my rpg type games - a throw back to my pnp role play days i guess) for my tastes, but I've played a few and even when they change quite big aspects of the game, I find them all decent enough.
So yeah Zelda is one of those bankable franchises. Each title may not be better than the last, but when you want something to play Zelda is cool. I've never not gone back to play one at any rate.
Question. I have Guitar Hero III for the Wii, along with the guitar plus Wiimote setup.
I was told that this is forward compatible with Rock Band for the Wii. But when I try to get the GH3 guitar to work, Rock Band thinks it's actually a microphone instead.
Is it possible to get GH3's guitar to work on Rock Band? Or do I need to buy another RB guitar?
From what I understand, while you can use the GH3 controller in Rock Band on the 360, you can't on the Wii or PS3?

Other players discovered at the game's launch that the Gibson Les Paul guitar controller bundled with the PlayStation 3 version of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is not compatible with the PlayStation 3 version of Rock Band, despite Harmonix stating that any controllers that followed the open-controller standard would work. While this incompatibility can be resolved through technical solutions, both Harmonix and Activision have cited the other party is at fault for failing to correct the incompatibility. Harmonix developed a patch to fix the issue, but it was blocked by Activision.[71] Activision states that MTV Games is unwilling to reach an agreement to pay Activision to use the Guitar Hero III technology in Rock Band.[72] This is the same case with the Wii's Les Paul peripheral.

My understanding is I'm ok because the 360 Les Paul does work with RB (though not vice versa). Also the GH:WT and RB2 equipment is reportedly compatible.

Im sure its simply horrible, but does it warrant mentioning on the Wii games thread AND on the Rock Band thread? Can we look forward to a mention on the Console Wars thread as well? Shall we also mention how much better Rock Band is handled on the 360 in the PC domedness thread, since someone there had the poor strategic sense to attack the 360's games, and so now all 360 games are on topic there as well?

Yes. I follow this thread because I have a Wii and don't follow the Rock Band thread because I don't care about Rock Band. Now if I develop a future interest in Rock Band, I have seen the pertinent information and can adjust accordingly.

At one time I believe it was customary to simply post a link to the other thread in situations like this, rather than verbatim repeats of posts.

I thought it was patently clear she posted it in the wrong thread, then the right thread...but I'd already replied.
In any case your mindless spam has even less value than her post and you're making more of them. You can **** right off now.
