The screen is a bit small but it looks surprisingly good including the sub fonts.
The R4 is no longer available (although there is a better one out that is its successor). However, I'm not even going to mention it by name.

However, what would be wrong with buying the games, buying an R4 type of device and then downloading the ROMs such that you'd have the convience of not having to swap out games all the time, keep track of those little cartridges, etc.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

It's still a violation of U.S. copyright laws, which are a portion of the federal code. This would reflect badly on my bar application when I try to become a barred lawyer.

Ethically speaking, it's a gray area, but legally speaking the laws are pretty clear.

You might like the Zelda game for the DS. The puzzles aren't hard at all and follow a general rule: If you get a new item, you're going to be using the hell out of it for the next few areas. If something isn't clear they will start giving you hints until you solve it. Also, it uses every possible feature of the DS, except the buttons as far as I can tell. I like it because it's casual. I can pick it up and play a bit then put it down. But that's how I play all my DS games, so it could just be me.

Unlimited amount of free games is not all it's cracked up to be. Pirate boredom syndrome is becoming quite popular now.

The biggest benefit to having a flash card is to play real homebrew.

            Ebay really seems to suck.

              What's a barred lawyer?

The bar is a lawyers' association all practising lawyers must be members of. If you're thrown out of it, disbarred, you can't practise any longer. It's like quality control.

I've gotten to the extra case in PW1 and I have to agree, that thing is really long. I'm kind of losing interest in it, partly because I keep missing what I should do next to make the case progress, so I've been banging my head against the wall with AW: DS. I've been thinking of Days of Ruin too, so that and The World Ends With You are on my shortlist. I still have PW2 and Trauma Center waiting though.

A lawyer who's been disbarred is the saddest creature on earth. Not only can they not bring cases, but their local pub won't have anything to do with them either

My friend loaned me his DS Lite to mess around with. The only game he had is Final Fantasy III, but I intend to get the R4DS and load it with games, see how it handles movies, etc.

Looking forward to Zelda, Metroid, Mario, and more

FFIII is a beast of a game.

Grindfest. ugh. I preferred, actually, the translated rom version.

Oh, and the best job requires communicated through the network.

There's an assload of good games out now, and some coming.

Particularly looking forward to FFIV and DQIV which are coming I believe over the next 6 weeks.

Would love to pick up: The world ends with you, but frankly I don't have time for another and I don't appreciate the SQUEENIX tax, ie 40 bucks for a DS game. ouch.

Yeah, I had told my friend to buy Final Fantasy VI (III in the US) which was remade for the GBA, but I he bought the wrong version, and got the DS remake of FFIII.

I've never enjoyed any Final Fantasy game. I haven't played them all yet, but what I've seen does not endear me to the Japanese RPG genre of games.

They seem to be like the western RPG genre, only with a shedload more annoying mathematical churn-the-numbers encounters. "Hey, why have 20 character levels when we can go for 100! For ADDED NUMBER CRUNCH!"

JRPGs also pioneered the "walk around an empty corridor and get JUMPED BY A RANDOM ENCOUNTER!" mechanic, which I hate with a passion and which makes me wish there was some sort of JRPG popup blocker so that I don't have deal with them.

The first western RPGs I was ever introduced to were Bard's Tale (which was okay) and Ultima IV (which was freaking unbelievable and deep). From that base I suppose I'm a tough customer because I was spoiled by my early experience with those games. I still hold Ultima IV and Ultima VI to be among the best games I've ever played even if they don't hold up graphically these days.

Modern RPGs I like are generally not on consoles but on PC. I think I've mentioned these in another thread, but several good ones that you can get for PC include Fallout (I and II are both excellent - they're making III as we speak), Baldur's Gate (avoid I, go for II), and Planescape Torment.

                              Latest grades are in.

                              A+, B+, B, B-, with one left to report.

Looks like I'll be getting that Wii after all, in defiance of all probability.

                                Lost in Blue

It's a pretty weird series, there's three of them now. You're a castaway on an island, and you start out learning to survive by gathering coconuts and fishing, then gradually move out to explore a tropical island.

It's full of weird DS quirks like starting a fire by blowing on the mic, and stuff like that.

It's got some puzzle elements, but they're not quite as arbitrary as Zelda.

                                Mario Kart DS too. That's a no-brainer.
                                John Brown did nothing wrong.
