Anyone play this game? I played for the first time tonight on my brother's account. He just recently restarted playing after they introduced new content and raised the level cap to 14.
I started a character and levelled him up to level 2. It's a pretty good game. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be very popular. My brother is worried they might cancel the game. As the expansion pack and introducing things like the monk and druid to the game keep getting pushed back.
The game has it's faults. It's severely limited compared to games such as World of Warcraft. There doesn't seem to be nearly the amount of activity and events going on such as that game. The lack of outdoor areas and "common" ares I don't care for too much. Most questing seems to be in instances. The bad thing about that is you don't see other people, even doing simple quests. So if you are solo questing, it could be lonely. Though this game is very party biased, so solo questing seems to be limited to lower levels (and this was only recently introduced). There is no pvp, no battlegrounds, no arenas, no world pvp, no special events such as wow's winter veil, brew fest, etc. Yet I do like the game, and don't want to see it fail. Yes they did alter the d&d rules, and did make it a bit more action orientated. But you can see they had to do it to make it a online game. But it isn't a shooter in any way. If a shooter noob such as myself can kill mobs in this game, anyone can.
I just wish the game had more "personality". Maybe once I get further along there will be more backstory. So far I haven't seen much. And roleplaying is pretty limited. Yes I know they shouldn't call them mmropgs, just call them online adventuring games.
