It is with regret that I inform this House that, despite the assurances give by Herr Gramps in Munich, Germany has attacked Poland. A state of war now exists between Britain and Germany. We shall offer our Polish friends full moral support in their hour of need.

From my Kommanders of the Deutche Eighth Army, reports of overrunning the Polish 10th Infantry Division, which scattered and retreated quicker than we could engage them, eased out our westerly swing from the southern area, which has by now been seen by all as a wheel end maneuver, sweeping north eastward.

Polish Air cover was caught unprepared by our Luftwaffe, with remnants of 131st and 132nd Fighter Escadrilles, valiantly but without success, attempting to slow our advance.

They fought hard and some got away as our fighters focused on ground protection!

Our BBC correspondent in Warsaw reports that Polish troops are falling back from the advancing German panzer forces and preparing a last ditch defence of the Polish capital.

In other news RAF Bomber Command carried out a daring raid on the Ruhr industrial area in Germany damaging several factories producing war material. All our aircraft returned safely.

I take pleasure in victory, I however take no joy from destruction of a societies iconic imagery.
