I havent bought a pre-2001 strategy game in quite some time. But its damned hard to keep up. The thing about those FPS's, RPG's and adventure games, is, while they MAY have replayability, you can play through once, and think youre done (at least if youre mainly an SP player) these damned open ended sandboxy games, they go on forever. Im doing my best to finish my first game of CK, while spending about 20% of my gaming time on "the software toy that must not be named", and every once in a while I get a hankering to go back and play through EU2 as Poland or Venice. And Ive got RCT3 sitting unopened. At this rate it will be well into 2008 till I get a TW game, or Gal Civ, or Combat Mission.

Yeah, 2K5 was great. I personally preferred Madden 05, though. It seemed a bit more balanced once you tweaked the settings. (which is the worst thing about recent maddens, removing the ability to make custom settings for strength of blocking, running, etc)

Didn't they make one with hall of famers last year?

      All pro 2k8.

If they add a franchise mode to that, good chance I'll be looking there for football this year.

Hell, I don't even care if it's an all fantasy roster. Just like some football. (Used to love that ole arcade game with the robot football players.....)

        Santa has got me:

Defcon+Uplink limited edition - doing my bit for the british inides

Civilization IV complete - it's about time I tried this as i'm vaguely responsible for some of the games design choices(religion being one part i dipped my finger in) and it will be nice to know if i have a future in game design or not!

Later in the year of 2008 it's PS2 time and i'll probably get Okami and God of War to start me off, oh and We Love Katamari - this was the game that got me interested in the PS2 in the first place.

2008 is going to be sweet

I never heard of project offset before this, but I will definitely be looking forward to it in 2008.

Rome by Paradox looks intresting.Lets hope on day of release its not a game in need of many patches before its ready to be played.
Supreme Ruler 2020 by BattleGoat looks to be about the best geopolitical sim ever made.Played out on a world map this time with improved graphics and updated AI .Looking forward to this one. They also have stated that the game will have less micromanagement than SP 2010.May 2008 is release date.

Frontlines: Fuel of War looked pretty interesting. Of course, with all games, you've got to wait closer to release to see how the game turned out.

Indeed - a proportion of those games will be average I'll bet.

I'd like to hear your experiences, when you play it. I have heard mixed opinions about it so far.
