I've still got to catch up on some older games, so for me, games of 2008 will include GRAW 2, Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4, as well as Ninja Gaiden II (amazing!), Alan Wake, and Fable 2 - assuming it isn't a complete disaster like the first.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for Fable 2, but all the other games make up for it.

I still have GRAW2 as well, but just finished my first run through Mass Effect and started CoD4 earlier.

Haven't played SC2000 in an age. Does it run on XP and Vista?

On topic, pretty much all games I bought 2007 have been an utter disappointment. Indulging in old games for that reason. I don't expect this to change 2008. So it's probably a mix of fully expanded Civ4, NWN1 and EQ2 for me.

I quite honestly haven't researched what's coming out, so the only one I'm looking forward to is one that got delayed to next year:

Mercenaries 2. Coming out on every platform.

Mercs 1 wasn't the best sandbox game ever made, but I find it the most amuzing one, still, despite the occasional bugs.

Well, I can say I'm hoping Madden doesn't completely suck again (imo it's gone downhill since Madden 2005), but can't say I'm looking forward to it.

I don't follow the series but the latest Xbox 360 iteration of Madden got very strong reviews for a sports game.

I haven't been following what will be released next year. The few games I know about, that will be released next year are Spore and Stalker Clear Sky
I'm looking forward to GTA IV, but at the moment we don't know if it'll be released for a real computer in 2008

Madden will always get strong reviews, as there's really no competition.

I can't speak directly to the Xbox 360 version. But, other than graphics that actually worked and the only system to actually having madden doing the voices last year, it was the same as all the others from what I've read.

All this superstar mode crap they keep trying to fix and improve might be fun for some people, but it's just not my thing. I don't really care to try to play as a particular player. Just want good ole fashioned football. Wouldn't be bad if they just ADDED that, but they took away things from franchise mode to get it it.

Last year they did try to add back in a shrunk down version of owner mode, but it was pretty crapola when compared to Madden 05.

And the "weapons system" they added was just a stupid mini-superstar mode added into regular play.

Like the NFL, Madden is becoming increasingly about individual players, and less about team play. I personally don't enjoy it. I'm sure some do, but I prefer good ole fashioned team football, both on the field and on my console.

It's really too bad "NFL Head Coach" sucked so royally. That idea had a lot of potential, but I doubt we'll see it realized anytime soon.

NFL 2K5 (for Xbox 1) is still extremely popular on the Xbox 360 now, by virtue of it being the best football game ever made and -- not surprisingly -- the last game 2K released before EA bought a $300M exclusive license.
