    CD key swap: Offering Word in Conflict, want BF 2142

    I played the world in conflict beta... a lot.

    Then all my friends stopped playing shortly after we all bought the retail version and I have not been able to find a new group to play with.

    I am looking to swap my CD keys for word in conflict for a set of CD keys for Battlefield 2142, anyone interested?

      Of course it is legal.

      I own world in conflict and thus have the CD key I got with it.

      Someone else hopefully owns BF 2142.

      Trying to swap legal property.

      Now if I said "I'll trade you a copy of my CDs for a copy of your CDs" that would be illegal.

      It is not as if we could invent new CD keys, both games are online only games, keygens etc do not work for them.

        Trading a CD for a CD is perfectly legal, but for you to trade only keys, you would both need to download an illegal version of the game.

          Nope. The game is intellectual property. It's not that disc that is important, it's the license to play the game. Swapping keys is akin to swapping licenses, which is perfectly legal.

            Okay. If you say so. But after the swap, both will have both keys, so that makes it somewhat grey in my eyes?

              But, at least with BF2142 (not sure about WiC), only one can be active at the same time.

                I trade with an apolyite I trust to not screw me over. If they do, I post my key on a public board. Most online games, if multiple people try to use it at the same time, the CD key is invalidated. They can do the same thing to me.

                    Both games are multiplayer only games.

                    WIC has a short, 4-5 hour single player campaign, it is essentially an online only game.

                    You can play BF2142 single player with bots but again, its really a multiplayer game.
