  • Who here picked up Call of Duty 4?

    I did.(For the PC).

The AC-130 Mission is, what they call, kicking rad.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

I'll get it on the Xbox shortly - I've got a lot of games to play so just holding off for the price drop.

I wish they'd put a demo of it on XBL so I could play it first.

I never really got into the other Call of Duty games. How does CoD4 compare to, say, the Ghost Recon series?

CoD4 is surely great technically speaking. For its visual quality, it runs very well. Set texture resolution to extreme if you can, that's a visual treat

Yes, I loved the gunship mission. It's also fascinating how that sort of imagery has been broadcast in modern wars like the Gulf Wars, and how that imagery has been said to be out of a video game (cue criticism of how war is nothing but a video game today), and now that same imagery has been actually used in a video game.

The Multiplayer is extremely "Busy", more so than the Battlefield series, IMO. Of course, most of the maps have been designed in such a way to have very few wide open spaces...

Multiplayer has many modes. If I understand correctly, some (like the hardcore mode) should be nothing like BF.
