Do i need the patch 1.0 to 2.0? Otherwise it seems to have most of the downloads on the official webpage.

Now X3, The Witcher or finish Planescape?
Go to the main X3 website(listed in my first post) and get that 2.0 patch if yours doesn't say 'X3 GOTY edition Reunion 2.0' on the pack. As for the version, not sure.
I think if you look on the top part of the game boxes back cover it will probably say something like 'patched to 1.3' or something like that. Then I guess look for whichever patch version you will need to go from your version to the 2.0(1.3 - 2.0 in this example).
Then you'll have the latest non- secuRom version

Also get the Bala Gi's mission pack that is listed on the sites front page in the news items, your GOTY might not have it as default.

Have a play around with it and see what you think - if you like it then seriously consider the Xtended mod as it adds lots of content without changing the basics. That can be got from one of the other links I gave.

I look forward to what you have to post about it.

Lol, I've become sidetracked by Oolite!!! X3 still has a sweet spot, but crashing into space stations while docking has become addictive in Oolite

Planescape is of course a truely great game(although not everyone loves it), but as different from X3 as chalk is from cheese. You will have enough differences to find time for both I suspect.

Thanks - it is version 2.0 and includes the Bala Gi missions.

Carried on with Planescape and have now reached the outlands. Starting to get a bit linear and hack'n'slash so I might have a break and install X3

68 in all. I had been experiencing some short pauses in the game, so dropped two("your add here"/yaw +a ship that was overpowerfull) and now that stickiness has gone. I do still get a 1-2 second pause just before+after Witchspace while the sector loads in all the scripts etc.

I've also borrowed all the music files from X+X3 and while playing Oolite have this excellent music playing on winamp in the background as Oolite has none, but does have decent sound effects. Space is fun again

Edit2: The list has grown! and will keep on growing I suspect. Any problems i notice i'll report here. So far it's been much smoother than modding Morrowind for example.

Edit3: Here I will list oxp's that can cause problems:

1.Condor.oxp(shame, nice ship, but errors in the error log of Oolite)
        2.orb.oxp(caused a CTD for me)
        3.Pallas.oxp(same as Condor)
