Re-running races I've already done isn't high on my list when I've got a backlog of new games. I'd prefer to just race you on XBL.

That would be cool if we could get Agathan, Ramsey and Verto in as well.

I can be available most GMT evenings and weekends if planned in advance. I guess weekends would be better given our different time zones.

I have the game, but I haven't played it much in the past couple of months, after an initial burst of playing it excessively. It's a good game though.

Weirdly, I spent more time painting cars than racing. I got annoyed when a fairly ridiculous dupe bug was discovered that meant it wasn't worth selling cars online.

I had two stellar cars I painted as Led Zeppelin tribute cars. I sold a copy of one in a private sale to a guy, but AFAIK he didn't dupe it. I would have sold a lot more of them, but the dupe bug means that some douchebag will just copy the car and spam it all over the auction house.

I might start playing again. It seems that the worst of the duping has been dealt with. That really put a bad taste in my mouth, so I stopped playing.

I like the painting feature. There are some awesome artists on the Forza 2 forums; far better than I will ever be. It's nice to have people crash out in an online race because they are looking at your car.

I suck pretty bad too. All these young guys with their excellent twitch reflexes are too much for an old codger like me.

I'm confused why the duping affects the game at all? Jesus christ, it's just a tacky paintjob. The game is racing, not making pictures.

For you perhaps. People are different. You might as well ask why some people like custom car paint jobs IRL.

Some of us enjoy creating art. I used to be pretty good at it when I was at school (won prizes), but it wasn't the sort of thing that was encouraged. My brother is even better, and he still draws in his own weird style. Frankly, it's boring playing the game with a bunch of people in grey cars with numbers on the side.

I find the online game less than interesting. There's always some idiot who is more interested in running people off the road or driving the wrong way around the track in order to cause major prangs.

If you want to create art, use Photoshop or Illustrator.

And I'm not talking about online games at all. Forza 2 has a HUGE singleplayer game mode. I haven't gone online at all yet, auction house nor races, since I'm only 40% done the single player after many, many hours.

I'm only just shy of level 23.

Different people like different things about the game. The fact that it has so much depth for so many different styles of play is a factor in making it the best racing game I ever played.

An old varsity mate of mine came over yesterday and was playing it. He designs transmissions and among other things is an engine designer as well. He spends a lot of his time riding shotgun on test tracks with a laptop hooked into a car, and he was amazed at the realism of the car handling model.
