Sands of Time, which is the version offered, are not the first.
The first one came in the 80s already. And I think SoT isn't the first of the new triology, but I might be wrong.

SoT was the first 'modern' PoP game and actually is the first (and best) of the trilogy with Warrior Within and Two Thrones.Comment
