  • Sooo...who's playing the WiC demo?

Who's playing the World in Conflict demo? This is a fun, fun fun game, especially in multiplayer.

I'm enjoying the ambiance(Battle rages around you as you control your little portion of the battlefield), and the effects in MP...definitely one more game(Company of Heroes and Dawn of War being the others) that completely puts the nail in the coffin for the Command & Conquer/Starcraft types or RTS games, IMO.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

I'm watching it with interest but I don't think it is in any way the nail in the coffin for SC in MP. As for C&C it is not and never has been a game for serious MP RTS players anyway.

Sickening to see CPL sign this game up already based on nothing though.

In the way that you yourself indicated in you earlier post. They want to elevate gaming to a professional sport, which in itself seems quite noble. But at the same time they want to keep control over which games become sports, and which games don't

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed this game, its much much better than C&C on many levels.

I very rarely buy a game, but this one I am going to buy.

I got the preorder a few weeks ago, and it seems as if a new preorder map has been slipped into the demo at somepoint in the past week. The "Airbase" map with different battle rules.

It is based on money given by Sierra to CPL.

                      Also, games as sports? No.

Sierra (publisher of WIC) is the main sponsor of the CPL. Go to their site at thecpl.com. Find this banner on the right:

This is like the NFL letting the Saints play in the Superbowl because they paid the most to get in. Oh, wait, no it's not. Games aren't sports. CPL = a joke.
