  • LOTRO 7 day free trial

Just thought i'd let you all know that a free trial for LOTRO is out there as of august 29.

For all who wanted to try it, but not buy it..like me. 6 gig download i think though.

But you all already knew this i'm sure.
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

If anyone really likes the demo and want the full game, I will sell them my game (all the original disks and materials - regular edition, not collectors) and account for oh, $25 or so. Send a PM if anyone is interested.

For what it is worth, it's a pretty fun game - I just don't have time for an MMO.

Wouldn't WoW be the clone of LotR in this scenario conmcb25?

That doesn't mean LotRO isn't the clone of WoW.

eh, I liked it enough to cancel wow for the time being and subscribe to lotro.

Very similar to wow in alot of respects, but it's a new world so i'm having more fun in it for now.

I like the twists it has here and there. The trait , deed system the epic quest line, interesting monster play. We'll see how it goes.

I actually like the fact that the UI is similar. I don't see that as a fault, because hey, if it works..still has enough twists to seem different enough for the time being.

How's the LFT menu? That and the lack of a sidekick system are the 2 biggest flaws WoW has IMO.

The group menu seems ok. I haven't grouped much yet or used it. Still at too low a level to really evaluate it.

but it's lord of the rings MAN!

I get to play as one of those mush faced zombies if i want.

who knows maybe the game won't keep me, but as of right now i'm having more fun than I was in wow at 70.

The future is always in question.

                        WoW is stale.

With some spices to cover up the staleness.

Since wow was my first mmo, someone educate if i'm wrong, but after doing a little back searching I came across (and vaguely remember at the time, but wasn't interested in mmo's then) some Asheron's Call 2 screenies.

Now, correct me if i'm wrong, but those AC2 shots look alot like LOTRO does now and how WoW looks too. So you have a timeline of AC2 -> WoW -> LOTRO.

So didn't turbine just use their own UI from AC2 for lotro which predates WoW?

                              So, who copied who?

Edit: I know nothing of the AC2 gameplay, so tell me anyone who played AC2, was it just a similar UI?
