Turn-based strategy on console

I just read that Bethesda has announced a turn-based strategy game for console! Turn-based gaming for console, can that work out? Sounds like a game to follow, just to see if this actually can work out... It's a Star Trek game btw, so I guess it'll sell well in the US at least, where that series is popular. The game comes to PS2 and Wii btw.

Advance wars got pretty good reviews, AFAIK

Yeah it's not unheard of, though by necessity they tend to be simpler. But who knows - until quite recently RTS was also considered a non-console genre.

Advance Wars and Fire Emblem are both quite good, and I guess you are discounting games like Disgaea as turn-based strategy?
