  • New Mount & Blade Thread

a realistic medieval combat simulation (i think someone on here introduced me to it), been playing it loads recently. you can play for free at first, but have to pay to go higher than level 6, one of the best investments i've made for a while.

is anyone here still playing? it's been updated quite a bit since the last thread.

the native game is excellent, but the mods are where the real interest is. check out the last days (lord of rings) and the battle for sicily mods in particular.

Interesting. I'll check it out when I'll have the time.

You made a new mount&blade thread when my old thread is only on page 2

I've been playing The Last Days (the LotR mod) again since they updated it for the new version. There are a lot of cool new features and updated graphics; it's really like a whole new game. Word on the street is that a new M&B version might be in the near future, so everyone should stay tuned.

Also, Onin no Ran (the feudal Japanese mod) is really fun to try out, and features a totally reworked combat system. Load times are pretty long because the map is so gigantic, but it's worth a look. It may not be updated for the newest version, however, so you might have to download the previous issue (.751, I think - not much of a problem since the game doesn't take much space).

          didn't see your thread cyclotron.

i played the last days in 7.51, was quality then. haven't played the new version as i've been too busy with battle for sicily, which isn't so hot on the graphics but has a pretty good approximation of 11th century warfare, a real economic system, and is a lot of fun.

onin no ran, i took a look at it, saw the recommended specs and ran a mile. i don't think it would even load, never mind run at a reasonable speed on my ancient computer!
