  • How many games do you own?

Ive noticed in a couple of threads people thinking I owned a huge number of games. I counted them up, and with some exceptions which I will explain, I only own 32 games.

Im not counting the 6 games in the first Simmania pack none of which I played much, and some not at all. Or the Two Thrones and Crown of the North from the Paradox 6 pack. If you toss in those Ive got 38 games. Plus a couple of freeware games (both text adventures). And some demos. And some Xpacks. and a couple of kids games. And some board games.

Im sure there are folks here who have a lot more games than I do.

About 14. Man, I'm a heavyweight But I sold some of my games, too. For example, after I sold my Xbox, I sold all my Xbox games.

100 or so probably, more if you count the Ultimate RPG Archive which has what, 50 or so by itself ...

edit: The mobygames listing says only 12. I remember more older games... ah well.

Off the top of my head:
            Might and Magic 1-9
            HOMM 1-3
            Thief 1-3
            Madden 2001-7
            High Heat 2000-2001 (i think that's 5 and 6)
EA sports basball [Triple Play and MVP] 1999-2004 sans 2001 or 2002
            EA Sports NHL 1995-1999, 2002, 2005
            EA Sports NBA whatever 1998, 2000, 2003, 2005
            Morrowind, +2 expansions
            Oblivion
            Deus Ex
            Splinter Cell
            Jade Empire
            KotOR I and II

Oh yeah, and some game called Civilization; I, II, III, IV, soon to be 5 expansions total, plus CivCity: Rome and Sid Meier's Railroads. Probably have his war strat games around somewhere

That's almost 60, probably about another 80-100 that I can't remember from way back when.

I have no idea how many games I own, probably about 50 or so. Most of them are so old, that I've forgotten about them. I don't buy as many games as I used to, only 2-3 per year
In the next 365 days I expect to buy Spore (if we get no more delays), Civ IV - BTS (not long ) and probably The Settlers VI (if the game is good). I might buy GTA 4 if (or should I say when?) it gets a pc release and the game runs fine on my computer
There might come some other games that I might buy, but as of now I don't expect to. Cities Unlimited is one of them, I don't have high hopes for the game, but who knows, I might be surprised
This space is empty... or is it?

Are we counting just PC or the fact i've got a PS,PS2,SNES,GBA,GB etc ?
Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendant, and to embrace them is to acheive enlightenment.

I really don't want to count. Too many. And if I included cd's with several games on them... And what about my commodore 64 games? I had some disks with like 10 games on them. . bootlegged of course.

I through out most of my game boxes when I moved cross country in 98 (not that I had many games at that point as I started pc gaming in 95), but I still have the cd's.

I'll guess around 30 pc games, more if you include games that came with my sound card and stuff.

I'm too lazy to look in the closet in my spare bedroom, but I'll go off the top of my head

bought (or present given that was legitimally bought): nascar racing (bought this in 96, only played once), nba game 95 I think, flight simulator 98 (for some reason it had no instructions, I couldn't figure out how to play or fly), Crusader: no remorse, fallout, fallout2, civilization 2, civ2 the first 2 expansion packs (can't remember names), civ2 tot (hated this xp), ctp2 (hated it), civ3, civ3 ptw, civ3 2nd xp, civ4, civ4 warlords, baldurs gate throne of bhaal, icewind dale 2, (the other game using that engine- can't remember name), The sims, The sims 2 , Diablo 2, Diablo2 xp, Everquest 2, World of Warcraft, World of warcraft Bruning Crusade xp (direct download- no box), doom2, doom3, some pga golf game I bought in 95 or 98 (386 gold I think), some diablo clone around 2000, Commandos (I think this is name- squad based game released around 2000), Syndicate Wars (hated it- too hard), command and conquer (didn't like it), black and white (didn't like it), star wars rebellion (hated it), axis and allies (board game version), fallout tactics, Kotor, kotor2, Morrowind, Morrowind game of the year edition (had xp in it), Arcanum, smac, smac xp (came in laptop collection with other games I don't remember)

copied games, master of magic, xcom, baldurs gate 2, counterstrike, dune

okay I admit I did peek inside my desk cabinet for some of those. didn't bother checking my closet. can't remember all illegal game. some games such as icewind dale 1 I borrowed from my brother and gave back. and not including free games that came with video/sound cards, or from my magazine subscription (usually a bunch of old abandonware/freeware games)

edit: looks to be around 49 or 50. I don't want to do the math and think about how much money that it.

157 not counting some old Atari cartridges in the closet. 49 are PC games.

Id say count them all. Since I only have PC games (not counting the board games) that makes my collection look even smaller.

Never bothered to count, but it must be hundreds over the years. I had a few dozens for my old Atari 800 alone, that was over 20 years ago.

Define "game" by the way. There are purchased, full-flegded, boxed games with a manual and an installer CD or DVD, and on the other side there's simple ones like tic-tac-toe or variants. Technically both are games.

And define "own". If I download a game for Linux for free, say, one of the many Mah-Jongg clones, I can play it at my leisure, but do I really own it?

Well considering I tossed my old c64 and amiga stuff, as well as doing a few purges on the pc stuff, we are looking at about 150 still sitting about, but over the years, probably close to 1000.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

lets omit any freeware, or any pirate dls or abandonware. I will include hard copies of games free from places like free cycle.

Lets include collections of small games (like the Atari Arcade pack) as one game.

I should add a couple to my list, as I forgot the Atari pack, and also forgot "Simearth"
