I'm extreme when the subject is extreme.

The world of gaming is changing and I hate it.

I blame the women, women have only had one "blockbuster" video game in history: The Sims, and now publishers, realising the potential of women's ability to spend and inability to download are changing their business model to rake in the money from women.

    Our games are at stake.

Meh. Civ should've stuck with 2D sprite graphics (ever look at fairline's work?) instead of going for the "3D CGI l33tness" that creeped in with ToT and became fully apparent in Civ 3.

Though it seems this new game isn't so much a "Civ 5" as it is a offshoot of the franchise, like "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One" and so forth.

While Sid's quote did somewhat reassure me, the previews did seem to give me a bad vibe. "Civilization: The First Person Shooter."

        erm what?

        1. The sims is primarily a pc game, not a console game.

        2. Nintendogs?

I'm not talking about consoles, I am talking about the assimilation of games - whether for consoles or PC's - men prefer to play.

Brilliant reasoning! I'm now worried about Horsez and Babez taking the place of Halo and MGS on the shelves.

By the way, do you happen to know the lead producer of Assassin's Creed is?

Yeah, one of the most beautiful women in the world.

But I have suspicions she was raised by wolves.

New insane troll Snoopy is starting to grow on me, but it's a contested area so he still has work to do to carve out his true niche.

                    Our games are at stake.

                    1. I know of at least one RL young woman who likes Civ2. There were quite a few female Civ2 and SMAC fans here in the day.

                    2. Console gaming is hardly mainly a woman's thing, AFAIK.

                    3. Having some variety in gaming is a GOOD thing.

                    4. I'm quite sure many women can and do download.

                    5. I can't really see how publishers are changing their model to accommodate women, unless youre talking about the Wii. Which again, I think is a good thing.

My younger sister liked Civ, she liked MoM and the like even more, but I am not certain if she plays any longer.

That's because that's all they had available to them. When the Sims came out, the vast majority of women, who didn't really care much for gaming as men do, suddenly did care for gaming as much as men do.

The "Great Shift" is not here yet, but it is coming. It will destroy all mankind.

This is what i'm talking about extreme

Most women (and many men) would consider this statement (And most/all of your other women statements recently) to be offensive to the point of being fired from a job if you made that statement at the workplace...
