So they failed to make a good copy and now they get their hands on expanding the original?

Oh no, all the RON haters are out. I really need to play RON, if only to respond. Ive had fun with AOE and AOE2, but they werent the greatest thing since sliced bread. AOE3 is not a huge advance, from all ive heard.

Anyway, what happens to Ensemble? Is MS sending them away, are they merging with BHG, or what?

When they realized that they were condemned to develop Age games for the rest of their lives, they all commited sepuku.

              RIP brian reynolds, game designer

Is he really satisfied with making an expansion pack for a aging game that isnt all that good anyway? I dont get it
I mean age3 makes money and all. But i wouldnt call it an innovative title, and by working on an expack you are limited by the scope of the original game. In the interview he claims to be having alot of fun, but it seems like alot of grunt work making an xpack for someone else's game.

I guess im just pissed that this isnt SMAC2

BHG is actually going to make some original games. It's probably just a cheap way to get extras on staff to make some money.

Not only did they fail on making a good copy, and now have their hands on expanding the original, but they have also squandered their good name for good.

Whatever credit, Reynolds brought with him from masterminding Civ2 is now well and truly spent, and he has produced nothing to warrant our continued interest in him.
