I installed the retail game (then patched to 3217) on my desktop and it ran like crap at the lowest possible settings. Frustrated, I installed it on my laptop (I don't like using it when I don't have to) and all I have to say about the graphics is, "It's so beautiful ... so beautiful ... they should have sent a poet..."

Didn't have any problems running/playing the game (people are still struggling to get those damn logos and the intro movie to stop running every frackin' time) except every 20 minutes or so the game completely locks up for about 10 seconds, then goes along its merry way.

Yeah, I get these random lockups every so often. The game has always resumed though.

From the notes to the newest patch:

        * SecuROM: The disc-check security feature has been removed (except for Polish, Russian, and Chinese-Traditional releases).

They know that most pirated software comes from and is sold in communist police states.

It has SecuROM malware on it? That's just as bad as StarForce. One more reason not to buy it.

They make these things called *Error: Forbidden Subject* and I got mine at *Error: Forbidden Website* and it defeats the SecuROM disk check. However, except for the mentioned countries, the patch v3217 released by the gamemaker actually removes the SecuROM disk check; they decided it wasn't such a hot idea to use it in the first place. Still, I like the sweet sound of silence coming from my laptop's dvd drive.

secuRom has a piece that interferes with 16 bit old dos games. You would have to delete the cmdlineext02.dll and cmdlineext03.dll files in your temp directory. Other then that it is on a lot of games, you'll probably find it on your system, and it doesn't do anything as horrible as StarForce. But it is still annoying as hell and as a general rule they shouldn't protect phyiscal media.

                                1) you can pause and issue commands
                                2) you can queue up movements, attack orders. for example, I can tell a group of units to move along specific waypoints, attack a specific target then move along a specific waypoint. I can tell units to automatically patrol along specific waypoints. You can drag waypoints if you need to adjust them. So for example, if you discover that waypoint 2 is a bit too close to enemy defenses you can simply drag waypoint 2 to where you would prefer. Overall, this allows you to create military plans as elaborate as you want them to be. You can also queue up building constructions and enable "infinite build" if you want the factory to build a queue forever. So, I don't think there is any reason to be clicking stuff non stop.

I would also add that if you play on a large map, you'll have more time to think because it will take time for units to reach there destination.
I been checking it out, I do like this what you have mentioned

I dont like "click fests" but this will apparently overcome that issue
