Or for anyone else who wants to copy this method and pin the blame on me - but it was rah's idea first!

I think that the mafia should give reasons why they think another player is the mafia, in order to get people to look for clues and to exploit any red herrings there may be. This way the story becomes far more important.

I agree and try to make my voting match this. I read the reasons why people vote as they do and even if I don't necessarily read the story, I will try to vote along with someone who does and who makes sense to me.

I will also tend to vote for the docpiler (i.e. Rah) before voting for the rationalizer (i.e. Hercules) so that we have a better chance at getting the Mafia.

          Chat Room

The cyclists gathered round and spoke their piece. Immediately there was suspicion of jealousy concerning Eugene and Eddy regarding Lance.. Was it a coincidence that both suspects wore coveted jerseys? In the end Joane Somarriba cast a decisive vote for Eugene who she reckoned knew far too much about the ‘Le Tour’ and being frustrated at being eternal second had decided to eliminate the competition.

At this point Ming interceded. Eugene Christophe was secured and placed on the pedocycle. His hands manacled to the handlebars and his feet to the pedals. A helmet was fastened to his head.

‘You have a 1km start’ said Ming ‘ If I catch you within 10mins, you will receive a 5000 PCR’. If I don’t, well you can leave the chat room’

Eugene pedalled furiously, continually looking over his shoulder. His breathing increased, his pulse rate increased, in fact everything increased. Still going, his rpm reached 125. He could see the line, yes, yes, no longer eternal second. However just before the finish line Ming passed him on a motorcyle.

‘Who said Apolyton was a democracy’. Eugene expired

ok so new new death suggests a few things

              1. Hercules has forgotten to update from mafia number 2
              2. Only one mafia and he dead
              3. only one mafia and he not sent second kill.
              4. number 2 mafia hasnt been around so he hasnt pmed a kill yet.

              I think option 3 or 4

Herc is reliable and if he had a kill he would have posted it.

So therefore the mafia is someone who hasnt logged on recently

How do we find out who hasn'ty logged on recently? Are there a public log on that?

The reality is Hercules is still writing the next chapter, laden with subtle clues and atmosphere (sort off). And anyhow each group kill needs its own respectful space.

                      Next stage real soon.

                          Stage 2 Civ3 Conquests – Ash Wednesday

Convinced they had got the killer, the Tour Director (after consultation with the riders) decided the race should continue. Since they had been kept waiting for so long, the riders were offered breakfast. There was a choice of porridge, cereal, juice, bacon, sausage, kipper, scrambled egg, ham, cheese, pancakes, pastry and croissants,.

The next stage was set to be arduous. It would in total be a 157.6km run through the landscape of Civ3 Conquests and take approximately 4 hr 20 minutes. It was designed as a half flat and half mountainous run through a standard size 50% Ocean, pangaea and 3 billion years with a warm and wet climate, setting.

Over breakfast the riders discussed the situation regarding the King of the Mountains.. With the last stage having finished early, and with Eugene gone, Joop Zoetemelk was now technically entitled to wear the famous polka dot jersey. But Miguel Indurain fancied his chances as did Louison Bobet, who was rubbing ointment around his saddle area. Bjarne Riis could wear the white jersey throughout the race but he too had aspirations for things higher.

As before, the riders entered their race plans into the Cycletron and donned their helmets.

Once again Sylvère Maes, shot to the front, but within minutes had a puncture. This caused him a 30 sec delay, which made him angry. (Darn he said in Flemish) and this got his adrenalin going. Floyd Landis on the other hand had got his testosterone going and shot into the lead.

Joop Zoetemelk, riding well on the flat stage, intended to use his pack leader, William of Orange, on the mountain stage – the famous Mont Valenti. Eddy Merckx was flat out again chasing Floyd Landis. ‘ I eat riders zike you for breakfast all ze time’ he said.

Pumping 7 litres of oxygen around his body per minute was Miguel Indurain who caught up with Floyd and Eddy. ‘I am here to ask you questions’ snarled Miguel. ‘Ah here’s the Spanish Inquisition’ retorted Floyd, still in the lead.

Meanwhile back in the peloton, was Greg Lemond. It was going so smoothly for him especially as he was right in the midst of Joane Somarriba’s team. Time enough yet to launch an attack, she thought. Greg thought he’d better control his urges, by Jebus.

Jacques Anquetil was in an awful mood; he missed his daily ration of drinking and poker. It upset his race preparation. He was having some difficulty keeping up. How does that Landis do it, quel l’homme!. Still there would be more stages and it was only ogame.

Bernard Hinault was as aggressive as ever, helped by that hearty energy fuelled breakfast; yet it was missing something but he couldn’t tell what. Bjarne Riis was counting down the kilometres to the finish for his 30km burst. He was well tucked in with the peloton and was keeping pace with Greg and ahem, Joane Somarriba’s girls. His heart was in some shape throbbing faster than normal. Here too was Francisco Cepeda, ‘ If I stay here, nobody will notice, I will survive’ He kept his head down and docpiled slipstreamed with the rest.

In the end, despite the medication, Louison Bobet didn’t join the race today and slipped badly down the leaderboard.

Meanwhile Floyd was reaching the top of the hill, suddenly the sun in the sky seemed to get bigger and bigger, brighter and brighter and hotter and hotter. Snow was still lying on this mountain peak and with le Caravane (that collection of media vehicles, support cars, camera crews on motor bikes ,etc), the effect was like a giant magnifying glass.

‘Mon Dieu, the sun’, swore Floyd and whoosh. What was once Floyd Landis on a bike was now a heap of ashes. Floyd Landis was combusted. Someone in the crowd thought he heard him cry out something like 'Jebus'.

The Tour Director, immediately halted the race and noted timings and placings. How had this awful ‘accident’ happened.

Once again the shocked riders were asked to deal with this themselves.

Well, at least you weren't kicked out by us villagers this time.

I too have some problems seeing any clues hinting in one direction. Jebus? Anyone haveing a good idea what that would hint on?

rah was taken out by sunlight btw, pretty ironic I think. If he hadn't been the one taken out, my guess is we all would have voted for him...
