    I'd say so.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

It's just one of those games you play for a few weeks, then never play it again... unless they make some major changes to the game
This space is empty... or is it?

I played it more on the order of a few weeks. I finished all the scenarios first.

The new Pirates was one of those games for me. Loved it to death on my C64, but now it is just meh.

Pirates at least, I played for a few weeks in the new version. This railroads crap is the worst Sid game ever to have been released.

                      Could you elaborate on this?

Well - it is just that there is nothing to do in the game. You continously lay tracks - and that is it. You have no power over the trains, once they are running. You can't use the signals. There is no "railroads" in Railroads. You just lay track and watch your trains run. That's it.

I disagree. The player needs to buy and build new industry, win patent auctions, buy and sell shares, determine the paths of each trains, determine the appropriate cargo and quantity of cargo of each train and upgrade trains. All these elements require very careful planning if the player wants to win. And there were will certainly be times in the game where the player will need to change a trains route and mission. There is a lot to do in the game if you want to be successful.
'There is a greater darkness than the one we fight. It is the darkness of the soul that has lost its way. The war we fight is not against powers and principalities, it is against chaos and despair. Greater than the death of flesh is the death of hope, the death of dreams. Against this peril we can never surrender. The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.'"

The real drawback for me was the inability to control trains..

I will reinstall but for real, very aggravating to not be able to switch trains once on track..or at least I havent been able to figure this out

Same here. I only played one game, in which I managed to get everything, and then uninstalled it.
