  • I think I'm getting too old for computer games

I'm getting burned out by them. Nothing interests me anymore. Except civ4. But that game is pissing me off and isn't fun. One difficulty level is too hard, but the difficulty level below that one is too easy.

Fat chance that I give up playing computer games until next year!

Yeah, you forgot the "I'm already fifty and still playing silly computer games" choice.

Hmmm, option #1 seems likely in a rather too literal sense...

Slightly more seriously as I've grown older and ever so slightly wiser, my tastes in games have narrowed considerably. In the last few months the only games I've played have been Master of Orion 1, Warcraft 3 and Civilization 4. I might have played GTA:VC for a couple hours too...

I've been playing and loving strategy games since Stars! (over 10 years now) so I doubt that'll ever go away, but I can't really envisage myself playing FPS games again.

          And do see my Sig-quote

I don't see why I would stop when I'm fifty, that's when they release Civ XVI where you can finally walk around your cities in fully 3D

Oh god by then it'll be The Sims Civ City (Deluxe GTA edition XI) because all the game companies will have merged into one monstrosity. Ewwwww. The future is bleak.

In nine years (when I'm 50) I'll be playing on my household LAN with the kids. Looking forward to them being old enough to play some decent games.

Games will be the only thing worth living for after they drop the bomb.

A lot of them I am not interested in. It really needs to be Multiplayer to really grab my interest now.

I'll probably be still playing games, but I won't be a gamer anymore. Hell, I'm not even sure I'm still a gamer anymore. I sold my Xbox. I'm still playing games on my PC, but not that often.

The only exception is WoW. I played that game 4 to 5 hours per day. Way too much, IMO. So I cancelled my subscription and uninstalled the game.

Already well past the deadline and haven't slowed down. But the type of games I play has slowly modified over the years. No more hand eye coordination games for me.

6 years to go, and I still play all types of games. I'm not too keen on RTSs as they seem to be click fests.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

A resounding option 1 for me.
