What are your favorite single player PS2 games?

Isn't final fantasy tactics for the PS1? I am playing god of war now... except I think I may have to restart :/

I was God of War playing on hard which was challenging but fun. I got my ass kicked in one spot, 5 times. After I died the fifth time the game offered to switch into easy mode.

I thought "Ah! It'll switch to easy for the rest of the level, then go back to hard." Except the level is over and it still seems to be on easy mode....

I loathed metal gear solid 3, are the first 2 like it?

Metal Gear Solid 2 is probably one of the most overhyped games ever. I tried it after the dust had settled and didn't like it at all. Splinter Cell was much better than Metal gear solid, IMO.

God of war sounds fun, though.

MGS 3 was a pain in the ass. Forest setting was awful. MGS 2, significantly better, though the story goes out of control in the end.

Tactics, and MGS 1 are both PS1 games.

I heard that Resident Evil 4 came out for it.

Katamari Damaci is great. As is Soul Calibur 2 (haven't tried 3 out much yet). It has probably the best collection of Japanese RPGs if you are into that.

I haven't palyed it but Shadow of the Collosus looks promising. God of War was good.

Glad to hear I am not insane. I remember people going ape **** for MGS 3, all the online reviews gave it incredibly high marks.... and I found it not at all fun.

I played RE4 in 5 sittings on a friends game cube .

Shadow of the Colossus seems a game where all you do is have boss battles. So if you enjoy Zelda like bosses (which I don't) it would be great.

when do i get to play mgs2? i watched over 3million hours of cinematics and i got to control the character twice for 20 secs.....

i hate RE series but jon miller is right RE4 is one of the best of its series (almost as good as RE1C for its time). and i actually liked playing it too.

i dont advocate single player fighting game but soulcal 3 is good for hours of chronicles mode and other unlockable bonus modes.

Dynasty Warriors series. Guitar Hero is quite fun.

Dynasty Warriors 4 hyper is one of the best games I have ever played.... unfortunatley the rest of the series does not seem to stack up.
