Recommend some good horror games

Yep, Silent Hill does have the drawback of controls, they have to be the scariest thing about it . Though the first game is horrible in that regard, the next ones not so much.

FEAR might be scary to some and not so much to others. I think it's excellent graphically and AI-wise, but not really scary and with piss-poor storytelling.

ok an old ball suggestion as it seems we are quite low on the 'horror' genre in games?

Cosmology of Kyoto - its an odd game, not designed as a horror game at all, more an historic mirror into a defining momment in the cities past. But it does creep you out, and definately some of the things you'll witness are pretty horrific.

you can find it on that under**g site - you'll need to set your graphics display to 256 colour mode to play it.

25 posts and no one has mentioned Clive Barker's Undying? It's an awesome horror game, made with the Unreal engine. It did really well in the reviews but oddly did not sell well at all.

Tried it, didn't like it. Making rooms so dark you can't see wtf just killed you doesn't make a game scary, just frustrating. No map or guide to finding your way around the manor house is also frustrating. So it went in the bin.
