  • Ceaser IV versus CivRome

Has anyone played either of these games? Don't remember a time when there has been two civ building games out at the same time. Ceaser IV looks like it will be to much like Children of the Nile for me which I never actually finished didn't keep my interest at all really. (Not when Civ IV and Eve are around). Any thoughts would be great!

CivRome wins but its a pyrrhic victory.

I'm not buying BtS until Firaxis impliments the "contiguous cultural border negates colony tax" concept.

IMHO CivCity Rome wins, but not by much as none of the games are great

They don't teach Roman history in schools anymore?

Looking at the reviews and screenshots of the games mentioned in the thread topic, I'll have to agree with the general consensus of this thread: both of the games suck.

If pyrrhic had been spelled right it might make more sense

I blame the declining standards of roman history strat games

They should just do away with the strat and make it FPS, really explore the 3D graphics they are leaning towards - running around rome in first person could be the way to go? ( :joke: )

                  yeah

When I looked up pyric I saw it had a meaning of burning and I was pretty sure that wasn't what he meant. The correct spelling I would still have had to look up though.

So what did you all think of Children of the nile? I never actually completed ceaser III but children of the nile didn't even hold my interest for more than the tutorial and one episode.

CIV is not worth your money. It's like a really pretty version of CIII. Oh yeah and now there are three classes of citizens. Biggest disappointment since Fable.
