    I use wireless, it doesn't add any noticable lag.

    Prior to this I bought 50 feet of ethernet cable for $10 and used that to hook it up (was on another floor from my modem) for content downloads.

            You don't need the wireless adapter, the official one.

            Any wireless bridge works.

            Eg:

              still $10 for a BIG cable is a good option, as long as you can lay it so it doesn't get in anyones way. Can wireless suffer from in home interference of any kind?

                Yes, if you have a 2.4GHz cordless phone they may interfere. You can try changing the channel (from 1-11) on the router to fix it.
