It had better be damn good content if that is the case. Expecting me to pay for something raises my expectations a lot.

If it's not good content, don't buy it.

Expansion packs are seldom free, I don't see why people expect them to be.

There is a difference between a expansion pack and little add ons like those available for Oblivion ( i.e. armor for your horse, and extra caves, etc. ). I just don't like the idea of advancing the story line by making you buy little episodic content. Even though they say it won't hurt you if you don't buy it.

Probably not. Never played many Bioware games. Bio Shock looks cool though.

So you're fundamentally against expansion packs, then.

No, read my above post. There is a difference b/t a whole game( i.e. expansion pack) and 1/10 of a game that is overpriced and of little value.

That's an awful general statement to make.

I take it you haven't played the latest Oblivion content?

Not the new ones since my 360 isn't hooked up to the internet right now. I'm guessing they are better than the first stuff they offered, by the way you talk.

Let me refine my belief in micro payments stuff. I don't mind the Oblivion stuff, other than first stuff they put out was pretty bad. But when you making a trilogy and offering downloads that advance the story line on xbox live, that screws people that don't have their xbox connected or people who can't pay for the micro payments.

If you can buy an Xbox 360 I'm not sure the argument works that people can't afford optional $5 micropayments for additional content.

I'm also pretty sure the vast majority of people with an Xbox 360 have internet, and thus can briefly plug it in and get the content. Or download the content at a friend's house.

For about 20$ cdn, you can buy in stores the PC version of "Knights of the nine", which includes other updates.

I know! i laughed out loud when i saw that this weekend! all hail the money machine! (and greedy corporate games publishers).

Ahh i remember the day when mods were free and pretty decent expansion packs were a few quid(Bloodmoon etc). I've decided not to be known as mr.mug from now on thanks

To be fair, its not just "knights of the nine", it includes the other plugins as well.

I guess most of that is true, but hooking up my 360 is a pain with the connection in the living room and my 360 in my room, I assume some people are in the same situation as I am. A lot of kids+teens only get systems and games from their parents and have no disposable income of their own.

BTW, if I buy the wireless adapter for the 360 how much lag will their be? I have RoadRunner cable, I tested the speed at dl-3532kbps, ul-363kbps. If I hook a wireless router to the cable modem and use the wireless adapter for the 360, will the internet connection be good enough to play online?
