imo this reaching for realistic 3D graphics is killing gaming(well apart from simple fps that is). All flash, no substance is the new industry standard
It's amazing to me that pictures tell you there is no substance.

That wouldn't suprise me, but I hope it's at least a year down the line. There's no way in hell I'm upgrading to Vista within a year of its release. I'll wait until at least SP1 (or preferably SP2) gets released first. Too many bugs...

Actually to a large extent it's the substance of the game shown in the screenshots that impresses me ... Bioware's usual combination of interesting dialogue and gameplay all over the place.

Yeah, maybe i'm being a bit harsh on bio-ware over this. If anyone can pull off the challange of next-gen it will be them.
I have yet to play a next-gen game on 360 or PC that hasn't imho failed in the graphics vs everything else stakes, or actualy provided better versions of the previous generation of games. Thus my scepticism.
I think a lot of your skepticism is justified, El_cid. Reading most of the reports out of X06 and the TGS, they would be paragraphs upon paragraphs of how beautiful the games were, and what amazing technological experiences they were. Then there would a few throwaway lines about the gameplay, generally just saying "it's just like (old game X), but prettier!" Not much to get excited about
Considering that the gameplay of the games hasn't been demoed, I don't see why it's surprising that there's not a lot documented on it.

gfx look pretty, but the overall 'look' is pretty standard to me. more info about it needed

Yeah, it looks good, but the style is pretty generic sci-fi. There are some info about gameplay here and there. It seems they have a new dialogue system that flows more smoothly, like a normal conversation.
Can't say I'm too excited about this one. I've played almost every Bioware game since BG2 and now I say to myself "been there, done that" every time I play one of their new games.
