I haven't seen any threads about this ... anyone else play the Dark Messiah of Might and Magic MP Beta?
It's totally different from the SP game in my opinion ... the SP game is much more RPG-like, though it's not an RPG; the MP game is practically Quake Deathmatch...
It's not particularly balanced at the moment, particularly anyone who has 'poison' as an option is WTFpowerful, and (as with most open betas of MP team games) any team that can actually congeal (few besides teams of people who know each other from outside) can do really quite well.
I am impressed by the team play possibilities, though. Even though I think that priestess is VERY hard to play early on, as is mage, and assassin and knight are VERY easy to play early on, while particularly knight isn't that good later on, and mage is really quite good later.
However, as a full team, with all five of these classes (add archer to the mix, which is sort of equally good across all timepoints), you can do VERY well. A knight shielding and walking slowly up a bridge, with an archer or two and a mage or two at his back, a priestess to heal him and cast brambles in the area (hurting those who sprint), and an assassin or two who trail in, invisible, a bit later to finish off anyone who's a particular pain. The mesh of the five classes is really quite good, and I think when the full game goes out and you have clans and such, this will be a very interesting MP FPS/Action game.
BTW, I think you can still sign up - go here to do so. It's a Steam game, and the beta is through Steam, so you have to have Steam to play it.
