  • CivCity:Rome - anyone else having tech issues?

You all sure helped solve my CivIV launch-day woes, so I thought I'd run this up the flagpole. I can't get this CivCity to run at all... and I thought my switch to nVidia would make me safer.

No error message, just 1/2 second of hourglass, and the app quits. I have the Direct2Drive version - maybe that is the issue right there.

Have tried all the usual suspects - new video drivers, reinstalling, etc. Even tried reinstalling and running on Vista Beta 2. Still no Keyser Soze.

    Thanks,
    Jason

3 cheers for copy protection. I legitimately purchased the game, but there was some validation procedure preventing me from running it. Downloading a cracked .exe fixed the problem.

... I hate it when companies make it easier to priate a game than to purchase it.

Actually, it's probably a D2D problem. Either the D2D exe was broken, or the download didn't quite work right. I sincerely doubt it's the copy protection itself... that was undoubtedly tested out first (I'd think?).
