Yeah, the PS3 is clearly technologically superior.

It won't "clearly" be technologically superior until it's released and we can see how it performs in the real world. I'm reserving judgement until then, not that I'll be buying either one. The Pentium 4 was technologically superior to the Athlon, but that didn't stop the Athlon from running rings around it.

So I got my xbox360 two nights passed. Fight Night is my first game. Fun but too easy. Haven't lost a fight yet.

Anyone else have it and wanna go? More importantly, is there any kind of a lobby I can go to to challenge strangers?

PS3 will be as equally unimpressive as 360 in terms of having real world games worth playing, games that are actualy better than anything you get on current gen(or...gasp...old gen!) systems.
The graphics will take up so much of the development cycle that other things will need to be cut. Next gen will be all about graphics - less about gameplay i suspect.

Wow... it's going to be same as other 360 games in price (USD $59.99) in the US.

That was a typo. Xbox and EA have corrected the gaffe.

July 31, 2006 - Hockey will not cost more in Canada.

After IGN reported that Canadian online retailers Futureshop.ca and Bestbuy.ca had priced the Xbox 360 version of NHL 07 at $79.99 (Canadian), $10 more than the standard price-point of $69.99 for 360 software in Canada, EA promptly responded, saying the price was a mistake.

EA immediately contacted Future Shop and Best Buy and the price has since been corrected to $69.99, and we assume that any customers that purchased NHL 07 at $79.99 will receive a $10 refund. Canadians everywhere rejoice.

Why the hell do they sell them $69.99 anyway? Would they really sell less if they sold them $70.00 instead?

                              Good to hear.

What's also interesting to me is that it seems while the standard Xbox 360 price will be $69.99, the standard PS3 game price is $74.99...

                                ***cough!**** rip off!

I think its way more than i would happily pay for a console game. having bought around 100 games for my Xbox+GC combined over the years, and only still playing half a dozen of those i just have no desire to make myself feel like a mug.

The extravagent price of next-gen games, combined with my concerns over the quality of the gameplay experience(generaly speaking) means i have no incentive to want to own one of these systems.

Dont get me wrong, i'm not a console hater(i own two(and a gameboy!)) but i just feel that next-gen is taking the casual gamer thing to mean we're easily exploited and easily dazzled by 'shiny' stuff like graphics.

We will get a few great games i'm sure, but the vast majority is going to be a burning hole in the customers pocket, and might effect confidence in the medium-term(there is no 'longterm' i suspect).
