  • New Rome:TW Expansion

A brand new campaign game – A unique Total War experience that re-creates Alexander’s epic push to conquer the known world. Replicate the feats of the greatest general that ever lived and push relentlessly through the vast Persian Empire, conquering all before you.

Face and overcome the awe inspiring challenge of the mighty Persian military as you seek to fulfil your destiny as the son of Zeus!

I didn't want to go outside this summer anyway.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

i'll only play it if it's a rome total realism mod

unless of course, they make it realistic and convincing this time

I heard RTR 7.0 will require the first x-pack.
Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. Thank you for helping us help you help us all!

Interestingly, this new XP is download-only, if I read it right - I wonder how much it will cost?

Personally, I'm not that impressed. The units just look like re-colored versions of the same old skins.

And by the way, am I the only one who's super excited for the new 1.5 compatible edition of Europa Barbarorum?

            Pretty much!
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Europa Barbarorum is another mod to RTW, and my favorite of the modifications. It has a very interesting and dynamic traits system, with traits that change from season to season. It's more complicated than I can describe here, but it's being ported to 1.5 soon with a bunch of new improvements, and I'm looking forward to it.

Where in Alexander do the Rome main theme fit in?

That is correct. There is a version of RTR that's been ported to RTW v1.5 - that means you get RTR and better AI and don't need the expansion. That's here: http://forums.rometotalrealism.org/i...?showforum=153

As for Alexander, I'm not buying it. Any number of people in the modding community could do a better job building an expansion than CA ever will.

sounds interesting... although I got bored of RTW...

I didn't find the Total Realism mod to be anything special. Same with the Barbarian Invasion mod... or whatever it is... xpack...

I will probably acquire it, but I think I'm done with this series until MTW2 comes out.
To us, it is the BEAST.

RTR is necessary! Hell who wants to play with wardogs

                          bah

games aren't supposed to be real, they are supposed to be fun... sometimes they can be a little of both, but it's rare to get a good balance between the two...

That being said... the "Total Realism" mod isn't TOTALLY REAL. It's just someone's idea of what is more real. I played it... it wasn't more fun than vanilla RTW. I don't see the big deal about it. Maybe if it had come out when I first started playing RTW, I'd have more interest in it. But I got tired of RTW after about 2 full games.

It's fun but... just... not much to do after beating it once or twice. What's left? Trying to conquer the world as the Seleucians? Or some other random minor tribe?

                          Bring on MTW2 I say!

lol, I have never even completed a game. They take forever, but then again I don't automanage cities and I do 30 minutes/turn

But what you said there that it isn't completely real is, of course, true. However, the way RTR is made makes it more fun because ridiculous features, units etc are left out.

Maybe you don't care about at least some historical realism, but I think most others do

                              yeah, historical realism is meh

I'd much rather have ridiculous stuff in there than not

whatever floats your boat I guess
