  • Half-Life horror experience...

I was in the kitchen a morning or two ago, pouring some coffee... Suddenly my wife screamed intensively... I rushed over to the computer room and found her pale and pretty upset...

She had wanted to launch Firefox, but the shortcut to Half-Life had probably been highlighted when she tried to, so the game launched... In the intro there's a guy with one eye plugged with a tap, I think it's the Valve logo...

Now, she's not too used to computer games + she's pretty easily scared. On top of that, the guy with the tap in his eye supposedly looks like me... Freaked her out, it did!

Get her to wait till a face hugger jumps at her in a darkened tunnel, and then see if she finds the first part scary.

        It's all relative.

and to think, QOTM is getting really annoyed hearing the music from Victoria - I mean who can tire of the march from Aida, or Britania Rules the Waves?

Is it wise to let women use computers?

I teach my relatives how to use computers. One neice was playing Doom when she was 5, another I taught to enter cheat codes into the Sims when she was 3.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

You shouldn't teach 3 year olds bad habits.

At least teach her to cheat at a proper game

The headcrab in the tunnel was one of the scariest things ever in a game.

And there were several of those, too.

I'm sorry, but I find this really really funny, I wish this had happened to my gf, she too can be scared easily.

Thankfully I'd just finished my coffee a moment before opening this thread, otherwise my monitor ... well wouldn't have been pretty.

I'm glad it ended well though ... just imagine if wifey came to the conclusion that the games should go ...
                          Now there's a real horror story ...

Or the husband, who wants to play such "horrible and destructive games"... Cannot be sane, can he?

                            Now that's a scary thought!

                              Great
I have something similar with my mother. I used to play some games in which zombies, nasty screaming etc were frequent, and sometimes she would come in worried and look what the hell I was doing on that computer. pretty much why i was not allowed more than 1 hour of fun on the infernal device

ps: If you want to get her really freaked out, put on a monk's habit, dim the lights and play some sunn o))) - it took the night to believe
