It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a fact. Just look at the list of winners. You will see that Events won the majority of games and if you further examine particular game threads you will learn about the way they did it.

BTW, I think the update is hosed. Joncha stated that I lost 6 torpedo cruisers, but I never build any torpedo ships, so I only lost phantom ships to the shield of Sava.
